We represent our clients’ best interest with regulatory agencies, local government, and the public.
We bring passion to each assignment. Passion for the environment and passion to achieve our clients’ needs to meet your goals and objectives.
Sometimes we are an extra set of hands, but most often we are problem solvers for complex technical and regulatory requirements.
Pride of Ownership
Every member in the organization takes pride of ownership in our work, delivering quality products that deliver solutions that make Happy Clients!
We are an extension of our clients’ environmental team. Many of our projects require a team concept to complete the assignment. Everyone on the team has an important role in the project’s success.
We expect our professionals to be self-starters. That means anticipating project needs and actions necessary to complete a project on-time and under budget.
To attain “Happy Clients” by solving complex environmental regulatory requirements on-time cost-effectively.
GT Environmental, Inc. (GT) is an environmental consulting company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio with branch offices in Medina, Ohio; Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Dayton, Ohio; and Beavercreek, Ohio. GT provides environmental consulting throughout the Midwest and beyond.
GT was established by Michael Greenberg and Chuck Taylor in November 1995 as an environmental consulting company providing industry with environmental permitting and compliance consulting and government with solid waste management and planning services. Michael Greenberg and Chuck Taylor both started their environmental careers with Ohio EPA. Ron Hansen joined GT in September 1996 and became an owner in 2007. Ron Hansen started his environmental career as a Co-op for an environmental consulting firm and after graduation as a consultant providing emissions measurement services for a large national environmental consulting firm. Chuck Taylor retired in 2013. Michael Greenberg and Ron Hansen are the current owners of GT.
Since our inception, GT has demonstrated steady growth that can be attributed to our goal of attaining and maintaining long term “Happy Clients.” Many of our clients have been with GT since our inception. GT’s business philosophy is to: (1) have senior staff working on every project; (2) have only subject matter experts working on your project; and (3) be strong advocates for our clients’ interest.
GT operates the following three business units that incorporate most of industries’ and governments’ environmental needs: Permitting & Compliance Business Unit (P&C BU), Materials Management and Sustainability Business Unit (MM&S BU), and the Environmental Assessment and Brownfields Revitalization Business Unit (EABR BU).
GT’s P&C BU has the sophistication to work with Fortune 500 companies and the cost-effectiveness to work with small businesses. GT’s P&C BU prepares Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), Non-Attainment New Source Review (NNSR), Title V and minor source air permits. GT’s P&C BU conducts air quality modeling using AERMOD, AERSCREEN, CALPUFF, and SCREEN3 for major and minor source air permitting projects. GT has assisted our clients with obtaining air permits for multi-billion-dollar projects such as a base load coal-fired power plant and a new integrated steel plant.
GT’s MM&S BU provides boards, commissions, and councils with strategic solid waste management and planning and reporting services. GT’s MM&S BU has experience with developing and operating solid waste landfills, solid waste transfer stations, and recycling centers. GT’s MM&S BU has established county-wide recycling programs. We do the dirty jobs too by completing waste sorts for zoos, industry, government transfer facilities, and we were the “Ecology Team” for the Presidents Cup PGA Golf Tournament in Dublin Ohio.
GT’s EABR BU conducts Phase I and II environmental site assessments for industrial, commercial, and residential properties. GT’s EABR BU also assists counties, cities, port authorities, and land banks with obtaining federal and state grants to help fund community-wide environmental assessments and site-specific environmental remediation. GT’s EABR BU has successfully obtained US EPA Brownfield grant and Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) Abandoned Gas Station Cleanup grant funding for numerous clients. GT’s EABR BU includes two Certified Professionals (CPs) under Ohio EPA’s Voluntary Action Program.
