Rick Ordeman is a Senior Project Manager in GT Environmental, Inc.’s (GT) Dayton, Ohio office. Rick has over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors in the areas of Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs), underground storage tank (UST) closure and assessment, remediation, brownfield projects, asbestos management, building demolition management, abandoned UST and Brownfield grant funding and unpermitted landfill assessment and closure.
Rick has extensive experience in environmental investigations conducted under a variety of regulatory programs including the Ohio EPA Voluntary Action Program (VAP), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfield grants, Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund grants, Clean Ohio Assistance Fund grants, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR) programs. He has worked on projects in 19 states, including Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Rick is experienced in sampling techniques for various types of environmental media including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, soil vapor and asbestos, as well as the interpretation of analytical data, development and implementation of remedial action plans, negotiating with regulators and technical report writing. Rick has received Covenant Not to Sue status for properties under the Ohio EPA VAP, has been issued No Further Action letters for clients by BUSTR, has been issued a letter of No Further Action (the first in Miami-Dade County) following groundwater plume remediation for a dry cleaning site by the Miami-Dade County, Florida Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM), and negotiated the relocation of waste and closure of an old unpermitted landfill with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Rick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Dayton, Ohio. He is an Ohio EPA Voluntary Action Program (VAP) Certified Professional (CP348), and a registered Professional Geologist (PG1470) in the State of Georgia. He also is licensed to conduct and interpret asbestos surveys in Ohio (ES34272) and Kentucky (58308).
