Environmental Site Assessments & Brownfield Revitalization
GT assists businesses, property owners and communities in the assessment, design, and cleanup of properties to clear the path for brownfield redevelopment and revitalization. GT’s Environmental Assessment & Brownfield Revitalization (EABR) group has extensive experience in identifying Brownfields properties, identifying funding opportunities for those properties, preparing successful applications for the funding, implementing the projects, and obtaining regulatory approval once the projects are completed. GT’s funding strategies typically include using state and federal assessment and cleanup grants and/or loans to provide the necessary gap funding for redevelopment of impaired properties. GT also helps our clients identify local funding to develop the match funding that is typically required for the grants. This can typically include in-kind services provided by the client, and these services often help improve the match as well as supporting the local community economically.
Brownfield Revelopment in Smaller Communities
While GT’s Brownfields clients include commercial and industrial clients as well as large and small communities, GT has focused on assisting smaller communities and their industries to navigate the technical, regulatory, and funding complexities of brownfield redevelopment. GT prides itself in successfully assisting communities that may not have the manpower, resources and experience to compete against the larger communities for these grant and loan funds. he members of GT’s EABR group communicate with our clients in terms they can understand, thus enabling them to better understand the technical and legal requirements of the Brownfields programs and funding opportunities. GT also involves the community in the Brownfield process. Developing public awareness and support throughout the Brownfield process is vital as the community will see the vision and revel in the accomplishment once the project is completed.
